Greetings Hospital and Office of Local Health Emergency Preparedness Specialists and Coordinators,
What: The Vermont Department of Health is hosting a satellite phone drill on September 23, 2021 and we are looking forward to your participation! This satellite phone drill will help the Vermont Department of Health test our healthcare preparedness capabilities and maintain communication readiness in the event of a communication outage. More information and an exercise plan will be provided closer to the event date. Please check your satellite phone battery prior to September and let us know if you are having any issues.
How: During this brief drill, we will ask each EP Coordinator to use your facility’s assigned satellite phone to call a designated VDH Central Office number during a specific time interval. We will ask you to provide your name and location over the satellite phone.
When: Thursday, September 23rd, 2021; 2-4:30pm (the phone call itself will be 5-15 minutes)
Where: Office of local health or hospital facility
Who: Emergency preparedness specialists/coordinators at hospitals and offices of local health across Vermont
Why: To test the following capabilities:
Capability 1. Foundation for Health Care and Medical Readiness
Capability 2. Health Care and Medical Response Coordination
Capability 3. Continuity of Health Care Service Delivery
