Vermont Medical Transportation Resource List
Background:
During the January 2024 VHEPC Patient Transfer Workgroup meeting members identified the need for a statewide list of patient transportation resources for Vermont, as one did not currently exist. The workgroup expressed the need for the transportation resource list to encompass all transportation resources including EMS, transport agencies for non-emergency patient transfers, wheelchair vans, taxi services, busing services, etc.
In the Spring of 2024, the Vermont Department of Health (VDH) contracted with All Clear Emergency Management Group (All Clear) to build the Vermont Medical Transportation Resource List.
The Vermont Medical Transportation Resource Dashboard:
The data gathered to build the Vermont Medical Transportation Resource List is now displayed in the format of a dashboard, for ease of use for members to find transportation resource options and their contact information, as needed. Additionally, the dashboard contains the following details: service area, payor limitations, hours and days of service, limitations of type of patient to transport, number of units, capacity of unit (i.e. 8 wheelchairs in van), contact information for business hours and off business hours, MOUs with agencies, etc.
The Vermont Medical Transportation Resource Dashboard will be updated by VHEPC staff as they receive changes to existing resources or when new transportation resources are submitted.
Vermont Medical Transportation Survey and Directions:
To keep the dashboard up to date, VHEPC Coordinators will continue to collect medical transport information. After viewing the Vermont Medical Transportation Resource Dashboard, please complete the Vermont Medical Transport Resource Survey below if the transportation capabilities you have at your facility (that can be utilized by healthcare partners across the state) either are not already listed on the dashboard or have changed.
VHEPC staff will continuously monitor and update entries as members complete the survey based on their facilities capabilities. You may also reach out to VHEPC staff through email (vhepc@allclearemg.com) or phone (919-717-3355) to make any changes.
Next Steps for the Vermont Medical Transportation Resource Dashboard:
VHEPC Coordinators to train membership on how to utilize the Vermont Medical Transportation Resource Dashboard as well as how to submit new or updated resource data during the August VHEPC Coalition meeting.
VHEPC Coordinators will continue to promote the Vermont Medical Transportation Resource Dashboard to membership as well as update the dashboard as new information becomes available.
