Dear Hospital Preparedness Program Recipients and Health Care Coalition Leaders:
A call coordinated by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has been scheduled for 4:00 pm ET today, Wednesday, October 28th.
The purpose of this call is for HHS, CISA and FBI to share with you the credible information of an increased and imminent cybercrime threat to US hospitals and healthcare providers. The joint government team will also discuss a number of preventative steps and mitigation strategies the sector can take to avoid becoming a victim of these attacks. CISA and HHS are sharing this information in order to provide warning to healthcare providers to ensure that they take timely and reasonable precautions to protect their networks from these threats.
