Q1 VT RACES Radio Drill

The Vermont Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service, also known as Vermont RACES, will be holding the first of a series of regular quarterly emergency communication drills on June 2, 2021, in partnership with VHEPC.

Drill objectives:

  • Test the Vermont RACES radio stations located in certain Vermont hospitals

  • Confirm that the radio stations are operational on UHF FM frequencies,

  • Practice emergency communication procedures, and

  • Test whether all hospitals participating in the drill can communicate with each other through RACES radio stations.

  • NEW: Test DMR (digital mobile radio) Capabilities at RACES stations

Future drills will be expanded to include more Vermont hospitals and more radio frequencies and technologies.
